Wish I could take credit for the excellent reference photo
I used for this — but was still happy to find it on a 'royalty/copyright
free' site — and also did a digital study of it as well which you

This was my first attempt at using oil pastels — and utilized a small (9 x 11") canvas.

Next time I work with oil pastels—I plan to try a smoother surface, such as Bristol board.
