Jephyr Art (Artist Jeff Curtis) - 'Louis - Photo Study'

'Louis' - Photo Study - Digital Painting'

November 2023

I'm back to going out with my laptop and
Wacom Tablet — and working on digital paintings
at various coffee houses and restaurants.

This often attracts the attention of those around me
and I wind up in a lot of interesting conversations.

One night a young man sat behind me and we started
talking. He showed me some photos he liked and
commissioned me to paint one for him.

If you'd like to see the original photo I
referenced for this study — just do an online
search for 'kid in a zoot suit' and you should
be able to find it on the first page or so.

I used some 'artistic license' though and made
the kid look a little older and a little less chubby, and
left out the background from the original photo.
