pencil drawing from my 'real world' sketch-

When I was a kid — a library had a
display with a Pieter Bruegel (the elder)
painting
in it — and I spent a lot of time studying it.
Painting in Brussels & Antwerp in the
1400s — I later discovered that his paintings
were often meant to be parables warning
viewers about their various vices.
His work is a little odd and not as refined
as the art I usually gravitate to — but there is
something about his style
that has certainly made
an impression on me — having to do in part
because of underlying messages in many.
Though, the original sketch for this
began, as I often do with just a 'scribble' —
(and then looking for ideas from those lines) — as
I worked at this —Bruegel's influence became
more and more obvious — from the center
creature's clothing to the 'warning' about
at least
one effect of having too much to drink.
