2015 Sketchbook Drawing: "Hubert"

When I was a young boy living in a small town—there
was a angry old record store owner who HATED kids—
and of course—that's who his main customers were.

One day I was "down-town" on the main street where his
store was—and all of a sudden at least two police cars
came racing down the street with lights and sirens and
screeched to a halt in front of his store.

I found out later that a group of kids had gone into the old
guy's shop—and at least one of them didn't have a shirt on—so he
threw them ALL out and told them not to come back again.

So, kids being kids—they walked a ways up the street—
and one of them borrowed a shirt and went back into
the record shop thinking he could fool the old guy.

When the cranky old codger saw him come
back in—he called the local cops who roared down
the street—and dutifully trespassed all the kids—who all
stood around looking sheepishly at their feet.

Predictably, not much later the record store was out
of business and a clothing store took its place.

Anyway—this character reminds me a bit of the old guy. ☺
